REVIEW ON BOOMKAT
2 hours of outlandish inharmonic electronic convolutions and doomy orchestrations generated by multidisciplinary Turkish artist Özcan Saraç.

‘Manifestations of Natural Phenomena’ is a furnace blast introduction to the uncompromising work of Özcan Saraç, who has proceeded over the past decade from installation artist working across the world to release his work in the physical and digital domains since 2022. The set plays to the range of Saraç’s sound, characterising fascinations with radical electronics between the head-scrambling hyper chromatic whorls of ‘Time (0,0)’ thru to crushing, militant percussion and minor key string arrangements ripe for a cyberpunk flick soundtrack on its numerous ‘Motion’ parts, and another, finer, strain of investigation in the ‘Space’ pieces that trade in deeply trippy stereo diffusions of sound on the threshold of perception.

Özcan Saraç - Copnvvvs by Alessandro Ludovico on Printed & Online Autumn 2022 Issue 70

https://neural.it/2022/12/ozcan-sarac-copnvvvs/

''Copnvvvs is the debut long-player from artist, musician and conceptual performer Özcan Saraç. This release further enriches the catalogue of Kaer’Uiks, a German label dedicated to noisy, polyrhythmic processes and different types of digital deconstruction and experimentation. Copnvvvs has definitely been released on the right label, the album contains strong undercurrents of glitch and noise and engages with other IDM styles to create a jagged and anxious flow over its eleven tracks.

There are no melodies between the grooves and no contrast between the different elements – everything is blatantly exhibited on the same level. Özcan Saraç is an artist not inclined to compromise, resulting in an album that is blunt and direct. His riotous generative glitch brutalism hits the spot. One way for a musician to respond to centralized control is to increase the degree of radicalism in their work by deconstructing, for example, concepts such as pleasant or harmonious, Saraç does this on Copnvvvs and much more. It is a corrosive work, that comes in a limited edition black polycarbonate compact disc with a negative print on the chromatic upper layer.''

Özcan Saraç :: OPUS H04S CELL (Kaer’Uiks) by Pietro Da Sacco

https://igloomag.com/reviews/ozcan-sarac-opus-h04s-cell-kaer-uiks

''Özcan Saraç returns to Kaer’Uiks, following up from the recent Copnvvvs (March 2022), that we described as “an experimental glitched-out demonstration in generative forms.” With OPUS H04S CELL released in early September 2022, it seems Özcan Saraç haven’t lost their momentum.

Ultra fractured, OPUS H04S CELL is slammed together with glitch and crunchy noises, with barely any time to breath in between, modular fizz-fuzz acrobatics in full-force. From stretched drone-scapes to scraping industrial sound effects, these eleven pieces emit such a cacophony of electronics, that one has to wonder how human hands could deliver such a futuristic and mechanized amalgam. Ripped apart from all angles, microscopic bits and pieces are scorched with eerie layers, only to be sliced and diced into hundreds of brittle and broken forms.

Operating at over 100 MPH, Özcan Saraç delivers claustrophobic electronic mayhem that zigzags with deconstructed non-rhythms and massive slabs of noise that are a workout on the ears. Approach with caution, and if you do, be prepared for a sonic avalanche you might not have expected.zcan Saraç returns to Kaer’Uiks, following up from the recent Copnvvvs (March 2022), that we described as “an experimental glitched-out demonstration in generative forms.” With OPUS H04S CELL released in early September 2022, it seems Özcan Saraç haven’t lost their momentum.

Özcan Saraç :: Copnvvvs (Kaer’Uiks) by Benjamin Charles on 03/08/2022

''As a musician in experimental composition and electronic performance, Özcan Saraç is also a contemporary artist working in research / knowledge as medium and live installations. He creates fields of research using information processing and structures, with the purpose of questioning the human being’s relation to the universal system, logic and political mechanisms. His work has been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Istanbul, Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Milan.

Copnvvvs is Özcan Saraç’s full debut release on Kaer’Uiks. An experimental glitched-out demonstration in generative forms. Whilst within the musical realms the name may be new to ears, including my own, Saraç’s takes a giant leap into the heavyweight pantheon of the experimental genre by bringing years of artistry into scope.

Devastating by design for over an hour we are baptized in digital holy-water. Hard to catch a breath it is abrasive on many levels. Notions tilt to singular melodics in some parts, but mostly we are embargoed from taking solace in tuneful instances. That is not to say to stay clear, merely come in prepared and to really enjoy all of Copnvvvs, in its entirety. Let someone who is a master of their craft take you through this existential outing; Özcan Saraç shows veteran knowledge on their debut.''
